Mac OS X Classic Mode Graphics are Slow

on our Power Mac G4 Cube (ATI Rage 128 Pro) as well as on our Power Mac G4 533 DP (NVIDIA GeForce2 MX). In our Hands-On Review of Mac OS X, we noted that graphics benchmarks in the Classic Mode are much lower than in Mac OS 9.1 alone. We ran MacBench 5.0's Graphics test on our 450 MHz Cube. Classic Mode yielded a score of 1536 but in Mac OS 9.1 alone we got 4184. We have entered these values in the table in our review.
