New MicroGb USB 2.0 Drive

WiebeTech LLC, announced today the launch of MicroGb, its pocket size, high speed, portable USB 1.1/2.0 hard drive storage device. According to WiebeTech founder James Wiebe, this USB/USB-2 drive is capable of transferring a gigabyte of data in less than 90 seconds and has several features which bring new standards of performance, connectivity, size and functionality to an eager marketplace. USB 2.0 is about 20 per cent faster than the current firewire protocol.

The product is available in three capacities, 20Gb, 30Gb and 48Gb, and range in price from $279 to $679. Mac OS X 10.0.4 and 10.1 are compatible with USB 2.0. Keyspan makes a PCI card with USB 2.0 ports.
