[Updated] Capitol Mac Closes? From Eddie Williams, "Hey guys. Thought I'd pass this on to the Mac Faithful. There's big news for Mac folks in Richmond VA. Calling our local (and only, if you don't count CompUSA) Mac store, Capitol Mac gets a message that they will 'cease and desist' all operations. very surprising, as business seemed to be going well and they were doing a lot of radio advertising. The message goes on to say they are sorry, but that Apple computer has 'left them no choice.' I wonder if that means an Apple store is coming to the area?" [Update: According to MacNN, the store owners blame in part the Apple Store in Tysons Corner for their demise. MacNN also reported that there will be a clearance sale on Saturday, March 16, tomorrow.--Dana Baggett; Update 2: Apparently, Capitol Mac has received additional financing and will reopen on Monday, according to the latest report on MacNN--Dai Swengler. Well, we knew the closing couldn't have been due to the Tysons Corner Apple Store which is over 100 miles away from Capitol Mac in Virginia's state capitol city of Richmond. Here is the Richmond Times-Dispatch article that is somewhat at odds with the MacNN articles.--ed.]
