Version 2.2b7 of XPostFacto

is now out and available for download. According to the author, Ryan Rempel, "It really fixes a problem with the "throttle" feature (I thought that 2.2b4 had fixed it, but it turned out that a little more work was required). It also should support the later 8600 and 9600 models (i.e. the 8600/250, 8600/300, 9600/300, 9600/350), though there has not been much testing of those." XPostFacto is a utility that allows one to install and boot Mac OS X, Mac OS X Server, and Darwin on certain unsupported Macs, including the PowerBook G3, 3400 and 2400c. However, we have been unable to install Mac OS X on our 2400c.

[Update] From the Dark Side--Gates to Testify in M$ Antitrust Penalty Trial on Monday according to this Washington Post article. Microsoft will call its former CEO to explain why the proposed penalties favored by the nine non-settling states and District of Columbia will destroy Microsoft Corporation and harm consumers. This should be entertaining. We sure hope M$ also calls their current CEO Steve Ballmer who reportedly claimed that he didn't even know what a monopoly is after M$ was convicted.

[Update] Software Update Preference Panel of OS X Not Working yesterday and this morning. We've received confirmation emails from across the country. [Update: It began working again around 11:45 AM ET but it doesn't show the inactive updates.--Dana Baggett]
