Apple Supports Unique Digital Photography Workshop

The Community College Foundation, located in California, is partnering with famed digital landscape photography pioneer Stephen Johnson, for the first in a series of digital photography workshops according to a TCCF press release.

Utilizing one of the Foundation's mobile computer labs (eBus), this 10-day trek through Southern Utah and Northern Arizona, August 6-15, 2003 will take students through six national parks to study landscape photography and its digital evolution. Traveling through Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon, Zion, and Monument Valley National Parks and concluding at the Canyon de Chelly National Monument, students explore the parks through hands-on work and lecture, improving composition and technical finesse -- pursuing their artistic vision, from image-making to final print-making.

The eBus is equipped with Macintosh Powerbook G4 17' computers, Apple HD 23" LCD displays, large format Epson and Hewlett-Packard printers, archiving stations, and digital projection for nightly viewing and critiquing of students' work. High-speed satellite Internet connectivity provides access to email and websites relevant to the fieldwork, and daily opportunities to post images from the workshop onto a special website the class will build.
