From the Dark Side--M$ Settles Again

Microsoft has agreed to settle a(nother) class-action law suit, this one involving $12.3 million in Montana. About a quarter of Montana schools will benefit. The M$ general counsel is quoted as saying M$ is pleased to help Montana schools. Might we be so bold as to suggest that if M$ hadn't overcharged them in the first place, there would have been no need for a court case that stretched over three years. No word as to how much the plaintiffs attorneys will receive. [Dana Baggett]
