From the Dark Side--Tablet PCs March On

Acer plans to launch a Tablet PC using Intel's Centrino technology this week, according to PC World. It apparently can function as a notebook and switches to tablet form by moving the screen to cover the keyboard. Prices start at $1,895. Another company, Motion Computing, is reportedly set to roll out a slate tablet PC, i.e., without a built-in keyboard, next week. The price has not been announced. Is there a tablet in Apple's future? We hope so. [Dana Baggett]
