We write "potential" because Microsoft gets half of the undistributed settlement back and claim rates are nortoriously low in this type of class action suit. The requested legal fees could easily exceed the payout to disaffected M$ customers. Since it's a corporate cost rather than a fine of the responsible M$ executives and M$ has a monopoly, the fees will likely just be passed on to M$'s future customers as a Catch--22 "gotcha."
