From the Dark Side--M$ Socked with $3,000 per hour Legal Fees in CA Antitrust Settlement

according to this Reuters article carried on Netscape News. The legal fees are on top of the potential $1.1 billion settlement in California. We write "potential" because Microsoft gets half of the undistributed settlement back and claim rates are nortoriously low in this type of class action suit. The requested legal fees could easily exceed the payout to disaffected M$ customers. Since it's a corporate cost rather than a fine of the responsible M$ executives and M$ has a monopoly, the fees will likely just be passed on to M$'s future customers as a Catch--22 "gotcha."
