iBooks Come to Port Arthur, TX, School District

Hundreds of Apple iBooks are being distributed this week to all Woodrow Wilson Middle School students and their teachers according to this Port Arthur News article.

As a part of a new Technology Immersion Project ( TIP), every student and 50 Woodrow Wilson teachers will receive wireless Apple notebook computers loaded with educational software and online instructions in the areas of math, language arts, science and social studies. The students will also have access to online formative assessment capabilities to monitor students' progress.

The sixth, seventh and eighth grade students will get to keep their iBooks at home, the first computer in the homes of many of Port Arthur's middle school students. [Dana Baggett]
