Parallels released Desktop for Mac 3.0 beta Build 5580 and it is available for download via MacUpdate.com or from this Parallels Web page.

  • Primary OS support - Leopard compatibility improvement
  • Virtual devices - USB devices compatibility improvement (including National Instruments)
  • Shared Applications and SmartSelect - Option 'Remove SmartSelect file associations' during Parallels Desktop uninstallation added

plus a large number of bug fixes.

We downloaded the update, uninstalled the previous version Build 5570 and installed Build 5580. We updated Parallels Tools for our Windows XP and Vista virtual machines and then updated each operating system. In brief use, neither encountered any problems. [Bill Fox]
