Learn about Microsoft Office 2004 at the May General Meeting--Microsoft, the world's second largest Macintosh software developer, will be at Washington Apple Pi on Saturday, May 22 to display the wonders of Microsoft Office 2004. The new Office will boast a new Project Center and the Pro version will include the first version of Virtual PC that will work on a Power Mac G5. Microsoft's Mactopia site has been short on details, so plan on attending and bringing lots of questions.
Picnic Plans--The Washington Apple Pi will host a picnic for members and guests on June 19th 2004 at Lake Accotink Park near Springfield. VA. The event will run from 10 am to 4 pm. Advance sale tickets will cost $5 and they will be available at the April and may General Meetings of the Pi. Tickets at the event will cost $6.50. Children 7 and under are admitted free in the company of their parents. Here's the flyer.
All the wonderful things about Washington Apple Pi are the result of dedicated volunteers. Volunteers who write for and publish the Journal, organize general meetings, lead special interest groups, maintain and improve the TCS, take tickets at the garage sale, fix computers at the Tuesday Night Clinic, answer the phones at the office and so much more!
This year we're going to publicly recognize a few of those exceptional Pi volunteers at the June Picnic. If you know of someone at the Pi who deserves our gratitude for their outstanding contribution to the membership please e-mail their name along with a description of their Pi related endeavors.
