Apple Released iPhoto 5.0.3

The iPhoto update is available via the System Preferences Software Update pane if iLife '05 is installed. A standalone updater is available from this Apple Web page. According to the Read Me file,

iPhoto 5.0.3 addresses issues with Tiger compatibility, Book and Print ordering, and Smart Albums. Requires Mac OS X 10.3.4 through 10.3.9, or 10.4.2 or later.

Specifically, iPhoto 5.0.3 addresses these issues:

  • In Mac OS X Tiger, images no longer color-shift after editing (requires Mac OS X 10.4.2 Update)
  • Book layouts do not change when you move an image on a page
  • An issue causing some Book orders to be cancelled was addressed
  • Smart Albums display correctly in other iLife applications

We downloaded and installed iPhoto 5.0.3 without problems. We opened iPhoto and our approximately 1000 images displayed virtually instantly. [Bill Fox]
