Aspyr Game Report--What's Coming Soon?

October is Aspyr Media's big month for finishing up projects that need to ship for Christmas and they have a great slate of games coming along. According to Aspyr Media's latest report:

Stubbs the Zombie has gone gold on the Xbox, and the PC & Mac teams are putting the final polish, bug fixes, and optimization efforts into their version of the game. If all goes as planned, Stubbs PC & Mac will be on store shelves a few short weeks after the Xbox.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is in its final phase as well. We've been busy testing the game on a wide range of Macs and tweaking performance. With some valuable input from the original developer, Frontier, we've streamlined some of the user interface for any Mac users that have single button mice, and our lead programmer, Michael Marks, has gone above and beyond putting in extra hours to optimize the game for OpenGL on the Mac.

Sims 2 University is in full beta testing, and looks to be moving very smoothly towards final. We're also working on Mac OS X Intel native versions of Sims(TM) 2 & University, so when Apple begins releasing the new Intel-based Macs all the Sims fans out there should be able to play their favorite game on the latest Mac hardware.

Development for the rest of the year internally at Aspyr will turn to moving some of our current games to OS X Intel, patching a few stray bugs in existing games, and starting up several large game projects that will ship in early 2006. And there still may be one or two surprises in store for 2005!

Aspyr Media also announced that CompUSA will have a special offer. Get $10 off a variety of Aspyr titles. Through the end of November, CompUSA will be offering a $10.00 rebate at the time of purchase on The Sims Makin Magic, The Sims Superstar, The Sims Unleashed, The Sims Vacation, and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (regular pricing $19.99). The rebate link didn't work at publication time but it should at least in November. [Bill Fox]
