SimpleFTP 3.0 was Released by On-Core
SimpleFTP 3.0 is the powerful yet easy to use FTP/SFTP client for the Apple Macintosh that runs on Mac OS X 10.3 or higher. SimpleFTP is a file transfer product, modeled on the RFC 959 File Transfer Protocol (FTP) Internet standard, that emphasizes simplicity and ease of use. SimpleFTP features include:
- Aqua compliant interface.
- Multi-threaded -- you can have unlimited number of simultaneous connections to different servers.
- File transfer resume of uploads and downloads (if supported by the server).
- Seamless multi file and folder transfers, and deletion.
- Bookmarks for easy access to commonly used servers.
- Drag & Drop support. Transferring files is as easy as dragging a file or folder!
- Supports the most popular UNIX®, Microsoft Windows®, IBM OS/2® and Apple Macintosh® FTP servers.
- Supports long file names (Mac OS X limit of 256 characters) and Unicode support.
- SFTP (SecureFTP) connections.
What's new in 3.00:
- SimpleFTP 3.00 is a complete rewrite of since our last version 2.01.
- Tiger (10.4) tested.
- Version 3.00 contains a new Smart Synchronization feature. Please see the manual for details.
- New bookmarks panel.
- Updated interface, including toolbar.
- Columns are sortable and rearrangeable.
We have used SimpleFTP since it came out. While v2.0.1 did work with Panther through 10.3.9, it had several issues. v3.0 fixes these. We have not yet used SimpleFTP with Tiger but we will this weekend. [Bill Fox]
