From the Dark Side--M$ Happy with Expected 1M Sales by June 2007--Sales at Amazon.com Still Poor

According to CNet, Microsoft is quoted as:

"We're forecasting just over 1 million units for the fiscal year," said Jason Reindorp, marketing director for Zune at Microsoft. "We feel pretty good about that number."

Maybe this will happen but checking Amazon.com for Zune sales confirms that they are still very sub-par. The black Zune's sales stand at #73 out of 100 in consumer electronics, far behind all iPods and many competitors from Creative and SanDisk, not to mention Apple's iPod AC/DC adapter at #59. Four out of the top 5 sales items are iPods.

Microsoft claims the brown Zune is doing well but it's not even on Amazon.com's Top-100 chart. [Bill Fox]
