From the Dark Side: M$ Zune Sales Drop Precipitously from their Tepid Start
Now the disparity is huge. Last night at publication time the black Zune stood at #68, beaten by several SanDisk Sansas and Creative Zens. No other Zune was even in the top 100. While out of the first 10 places, the iPods took numbers 1, 2, 4, 5 ,7 and 8--all colors/models were higher than the Zune. Even an iPod AC/DC adapter beat the Zune at #51.
David Eran posted an iPod vs Zune Buyers Guide which explains the reasons for the Zune's marketplace flop. He also just posted a treatise on M$'s marketing dirty tricks that may be used to try to reverse the flop. [Bill Fox]
