Apple Top-Ranked Computer Company in Customer Service Due to Genius Bar

BusinessWeek Magazine's cover story for March 5 is "Customer Service Champs." It provides BusinessWeek's list of the top 25 U.S. companies in customer service. Apple is the top-rated computer company and no others made the top 25. Despite being top-rated, Apple only garnered position 18, being beaten by such companies as Cadillac (#3), Nordstrom (#4), UPS (#8), Starbucks (#10) and Cabelas (#15). Apple was boosted into the top 25 with bonus points for being the industry leader.

BusinessWeek's comments about Apple are:

"While Apple's customer service shows its bruises--device problems frequently erupt just after warranties expire--the in-person support offered at the 'Genius Bars' in the electronics maker's more than 170 stores sets it apart from its peers."
