Apple released Backup 3.1.1 for .Mac Members. It is available via Software Update, if Backup 3.x is currently installed, and as a stand-alone updater for download from this Apple Web page. According to the ReadMe file,

Backup 3.1.1 is highly recommended for all users of Backup 3. Significant areas addressed are:

  • Backup and restore with external drives
  • Memory management
  • Restore of bundled file types

We are .Mac members and use Apple Backup as our backup utility so we downloaded and installed it on several computers without incident. We ran delta and full backups and encountered no problems. [Bill Fox]
