Brief Hands-On Report--AirPort Utility 5.3.1
AirPort Utility 5.3 came with my Time Capsule. AirPort Utility 5.3.1 appeared in Software Update of those Macs with version 5.3 installed. It did not appear in Software Update on other Macs nor is there a stand-alone updater on Apple's Support Downloads Web page. [Update: The stand-alone updaters for Leopard, Tiger and Windows are now available from this Apple Web page.] According to Apple,
The AirPort Base Station Update 2008-001 includes general fixes and compatibility updates for the following applications:
- AirPort Utility
- AirPort Disk Utility
- AirPort Base Station Agent
I downloaded and installed the update on my Mac Pro and MacBook Air via Software Update. I opened each of my four AirPort Base Stations and checked the settings. No problems were encountered. [Bill Fox]
