Here's Apple's Press Release announcing phase II of the "Think different." campaign that began on ABC last night.

At 8:31p EST (and again at 9:16p, 9:46p, 10:02p) a short Apple ad ran. It showed a Pentium II chip stuck on the back of a snail slowly sliming along and stated that "Some people think the Pentium II is the fastest processor in the world." The ad then faded to a new PowerMac G3 mini-tower stating "Not quite! The chip inside every new PowerMac G3 is up to twice as fast." [I may have missed a couple of words.] It finished fading in "Think different." with the Apple logo.

Joshua Gallagher of FWB Tech Support wrote me that FWB now has for download a CD ROM ToolKit v3.01 personality file for the Philips PCA80SC CD ROM Drive that came in my PowerComputing PowerBase. Support for this Drive was dropped in the 3.0-->3.01 updater. It worked but I had to turn off the cache enablers. An update is due shortly that will fix this problem.
