Sonnet Crescendo Review Update

Sonnet's technical support has contacted Dana Baggett and is working with him to try to resolve the issues that he encountered using the Crescendo 120/604 in his Performa 6115. The remiss response was due to Sonnet being short-staffed during the holidays, something that is probably common to most businesses. Stay tuned for updates.

Apple posted Internet Access Updater 1.03. IA 1.03 updates the internet access software issued with Mac OS 8.

Apple also posted System 7.0 and 7.01 software, including Rename Rescue 1.0 and Tune-Up 1.1.1. For Auld Lang Sein?

MacWEEK says that Microsoft will introduce Internet Explorer 4.0 for the Mac next week at the Macworld Expo in San Francisco. I admit that I bought the $4.95 so-called commemorative CD--somebody please slap me! Okay, I must have been unduly influenced by Thursday night's "Nightline" featuring MS's Redmond headquarters office campus and how well Microsoft treats its employees.

The Apple Club was closed as of January 2nd according to an email sent late yesterday to me as a member. Macs Only! reviewed The Apple Club's early development. I wondered if this would happen once the Apple Store Online opened. While software was occasionally posted to the Apple Club first, during 1997 Apple upgraded its servers so that the Club offered no significant download speed advantage. The monthly memo from the CEO stopped when Gil Amelio left and the receipt of other club publications petered out as well. The Apple Club is offering prorated refunds from the members page by downloading, printing, filling out and mailing a refund form (an Adobe Acrobat .pdf file) by January 31st.
