Mac OS 9--Something Up?

Macintouch reported that Mac OS 9 is scarce to non-existent at many CompUSA stores and that employees mentioned that they had been recalled by CompUSA HQ leading to a variety of speculations. I visited my local CompUSA on Saturday to see how the Demo Days were going and sure enough, NO Mac OS 9--just a few empty boxes for display. Employees didn't know why and neither did the Apple Rep on duty. No Sawtooth G4's either and the manager claimed to be unable to get them although Micro Center a short distance away has not had this problem. Dana Baggett check on line stores and found Mac OS 9 was available. There were even 55,000 copies at MacMall so it doesn't look like an Apple recall of Mac OS 9 either because of the lawsuit over its name, problems with it or an updater will be out soon according to some web sites. The mystery continues.
