Mac OS 9.2.2

was Released by Apple late yesterday. It is available in all localized languages except Spanish (coming soon) via the Software Update control panel in Mac OS 9.2.1 or as a standalone installer. 9.2.2 requires 9.2.1 and updates many extensions, mostly dealing with networking (Open Transport, Enet, AppleShare) and graphics (ATI, Nvidia and OpenGL drivers). There are also new Audio, FireWire and USB drivers. We downloaded the standalone installer and installed 9.2.2 on our PowerBook G4 500 with no problems running either as the startup OS or in Classic mode for Mac OS X 10.1.1. Dana Baggett downloaded Mac OS 9.2.2 using Software Update on his G4 Cube. All went well. It left behind the installer package which he then imported onto his iMac and ran it there.
