PowerLogix G4 Compatible With New Adobe Photoshop v5.5 Altivec Filters

From PL's Robin Sharp, "PowerLogix R&D, the first manufacturer to ship G4 processor upgrades, yesterday announced compatibility with the newly-posted Adobe Altivec filters for Photoshop 5.5. Prior to now, only owners of Apple PowerMac G4s had access to these special Altivec enhanced filters and plug-ins. Now, anyone with a PowerLogix G4 upgrade can also optimize their Photoshop performance by downloading these updated filters. Unlike other third party G4 upgrade card manufacturers, only PowerLogix offers compatibility with these filters designed exclusively for Photoshop 5.5.

The new filters offer the following benefits:

- Resolves problems when using the Distort filters on RGB or Lab images.
- Resolves potential problems when using Median and Lighting Effects filters on small selections.
- Improves speed of many operations.
