However, if you already have a prior version of QuickTime 4, just make an internet connection and click on the Updater in your QT folder.For my version it downloaded 15 files and 3.2 MB in 18 minutes updating the QuickTime, QuickTime PowerPlug and QuickTime VR extensions plus the web browser plugin. From Dana Baggett, "I installed the QT 4.03 upgrade using installer stub already in my QT folder. The installer stub connected with the http installer files and after a considerable bit of time, a download resulted. If I hadn't had experience with this routine I might have mistakenly stopped there, as there is nothing that indicates the installation isn't complete. But, in fact all one has done is downloaded a new installer stub. After double clicking on it, you are once again transported to the installer files and this time, 15 files are downloaded over a period of more than 20 minutes. No indication of download speed. Finally, you are told that a reboot is necessary and, after that, old files appear in the trash and new files are in their proper places. Very nice and orderly, but not entirely intuitive."
