--"While I got info that helped Lee County keep Macs on their system some time ago, I have now learned that my home county public school system (Wake Co., NC) are "phasing out" Macs. Their plan is to still allow them to connect to the network, but they will provide no support for the machines - so if they break, the individual school must handle any problems with the Macs themselves, while the PCs are fully supported by the system's IT dept. Also, all faculty computers must be PCs. While they do not prohibit you from using school's Macs, they will not install network software, nor will they allow you to install any either."
