From the Dark Side--M$ Antitrust Conviction Penalty Vacated by Appeals Court
Microsoft remains a convicted illegal monopolist but the scope was narrowed significantly and the penalty imposed by Judge Penfield Jackson, a break up of the company into two parts, was vacated in a 7-0 vote. The Appeals Court also rebuked Judge Jackson for his public comments so the penalty phase of the case was remanded to the District Court but to another Judge who will be selected randomly.
