Mac Tidbits

1. Apple will produce dual 667/733 Power Macs when the supply of these new G4 chips becomes unconstrained later this year. The single 733 is faster than the dual 533 even with apps that use multiple processors.
2. The low end 466 MHz Power Mac and the 733 MHz Power Mac use exactly the same motherboard.
3. Applications will runs as fast under Mac OS X's Classic Environment as under Mac OS 9.1 alone.
4. Mac OS X's Classic Environment will go into deep sleep mode and not use the CPU.
5. Mac OS X will come out in 7 languages simultaneously, all on the same CD, as a configuration option. No more separate language releases.
6. A future release of Mac OS X, not v1.0, will have a truly automatic printer setup and configuration accomplished simply by plugging it into a Mac running Mac OS X.
