Apple Bluetooth Technology Preview 1 Release

is available for download from Apple's server. "The enclosed software will allow Macintosh customers to use a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone for Internet connection, perform a HotSync operation with a Palm handheld device, and exchange files between two Bluetooth enabled computers." This technology allows Macs to share files wirelessly more cheaply (although more slowly at 1 Mbps vs 11) than AirPort. Mac OS X 10.1.3 is needed. The necessary D-Link DWB-120M Bluetooth USB Adapter is available from the Apple Store for $49.
