--Since we have a 1.2-GHz G4 CPU upgrade from PowerLogix installed, our Cube has a large (80x80x15 mm) but very quiet Panasonic Panaflo fan in it's base. The air flow out of the top of the PowerCube is much better than from the original enclosure.

The only slight drawback to the PowerCube that we have found is a reduction in AirPort Extreme reception. Mac OS X 10.3.1's Internet Connect application measured a signal strength of a solid 10 bars (of 15) in the original enclosure but it oscillates between 4-6 bars in the PowerCube. The AirPort menu icon measured a solid 3 arcs of 4 in the original enclosure but only 1-2 in the PowerCube. This at least partly results from the PowerCube's antenna ports being on the right side and right rear when facing the PowerCube while the Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station is 15' away in the next room to the front left of the PowerCube. Re-orienting the PowerCube or AirPort Extreme Base Station, which we can't do, should improve reception. However, we still get a 500-600 kps download speed from our DSL internet connection via the AirPort so we'll call it a slight drawback.
