Apple Sigificantly Boosted Their iMac G5 Line and Lowered 20" Price
Yesterday, Apple announced that the iMac G5 will get 2GHz G5 CPUs for the mid and upper models instead of 1.8GHz, which also get 8x dual-layer DVD-burning SuperDrives. The lower level iMac G5 with a CD-RW optical drive gets a 1.8GHz G5 CPU. All three get much faster ATI 9600 graphics cards with a full 128MB of video RAM, gigabit ethernet ports, 512MB of fast 400MHz DDR SRAM, included AirPort Extreme card, included Bluetooth 2.0+EDR wireless module and Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, of course.
Unless we've been napping, we believe that Apple also lowered the price for the 20" iMac G4 from $1899 to $1799. The other two models remain priced same at $1299 and $1499.
