Improving My Wired/Wireless AirPort Network

From Slava Serota, "You should uncheck 'Share Internet Connection' in the 'Internet' tab. Then, on your G4 and iBook, use 'Manually' in the TCP/IP and enter a 192.168.0.x number with 192.168.0.1 for router, as per IPNetRouter scheme, as well as a valid DNS. In this setup, AirPort Base will serve as a *bridge* to your IPNetRouter wired LAN, as opposed to a DHCP router that it is now. This will eliminate a layer of network translations." I tried the suggestion and, of course, it worked fine on my network. My "ping" time in Unreal Tournament and Quake III Arena seems to have decreased substantially without the second layer of translation.
