56K Modems

Apparently all 56K modems are not created equal. In this NEWS.COM story x2 modems beat 56K Flex modems in the rate of connecting and the rate of transfer when connected. This difference is expected to continue when upgraded to the new v.90 standard. 56K.Com recommends waiting until the new technology sinks in before flashing your modem to v.90.
